GoMonio is a financial management platform for businesses and agencies. It is organised into modules:
Cash Flow: Transactions, budgeting, cash flow analysis, and forecasting
Bookkeeping: Double-entry bookkeeping and VAT reporting
Invoicing: Creating and sending sales invoices
Documents: Storing, organising, and signing documents
Communication: Chat with your team, employees, auditors and bookkeepers.
Client Management: Managing business clients (agency profiles only)
This guide will help you get up and running with the Cash Flow module.
Essential Setup Steps
1. Complete Billing Setup
You'll be redirected to complete billing setup before accessing the platform. Business profiles managed by an agency skip this step, because the agency pays for them.
2. Add Your First Bank Account
Go to Settings → Bank Accounts and click "Add Account". Choose between:
Manual Entry: Add account details and transactions yourself
Connect via Open Banking (PSD2): Connect directly to your bank for automatic synchronization
CSV/Import Account: For importing data from external sources, for example invoicing lists for forecasting and planning
PSD2 Benefits: Automatic syncing every 6 hours and history import up to 24 months (most banks guarantee 90 days)
Bank accounts: Every plan includes unlimited bank accounts.
3. Set Your Default Account
If you have multiple accounts, mark one as default. This becomes the default selection for new transactions and imports.
4. Import or Add Transactions
Start populating your account with financial data:
CSV: Bulk upload from bank statements
Manual: Add individual transactions
PSD2 Sync: Automatic synchronization from a connected bank
5. Review and Customize Categories
GoMonio uses a four-tier system: Activity Classes (Operating, Investing, Financing) → Category Groups (Income/Expense) → Categories → Subcategories. Default categories are created automatically, but only Categories and Subcategories can be customized. The Categories page gives you a clearer view of the full hierarchy than any description here.
On the Transactions page, you can review and categorize your transactions, and use automation rules to handle them quickly and efficiently.
You're Ready to Go! Once you have at least one account with some transactions, you can explore the Dashboard for cash flow visualization.
Multi-User Profile Management
Share access with team members or accountants through Settings → Team Members.
